Results

If you added the recipe from the Prescription iconPrescription > Recipes panel, the recipe is saved and a new prescription is immediately started for it. If the prescription is for an S8 recipe, Real Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM) runs and the results of the check are displayed.

The recipe is saved and listed on the Recipes panel together with any other recipes that have been shared. The recipe name and its dose form are displayed with a badge showing who can prescribe the recipe:
  • Only me badge - only the current prescriber
  • Practice-wide badge - any prescriber in the practice

What to do next

When you prescribe the drug recipe and if it is on the PBS, Extemporaneously Prepared Benefits is displayed in the header on the Prescription screen. If the patient has a DVA card recorded, the header is prefixed with RPBS.

For RPBS authority recipes, to select RPBS Authority when prescribing, click Change subsidy category.

When a script using a drug recipe is printed, the formulation (or drug recipe) is printed on the script below the name of the item. If the recipe is on the PBS or RPBS, this box is selected on the prescription.

No-one can edit the drug recipe itself. However, you can change the Schedule 8 setting for any recipe, or change the visibility for recipes you created. To edit a recipe, select it in the Recipes list and click Edit iconEdit. Change the Schedule 8 or Show for setting.
Tip: If required, to add the recipe to your Favourites list, in the recipe header, click Add to favourites listFavourite. For more information, see Medication Favourites.

If you need to modify the recipe itself, create a new one and the delete the old version.
