Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
- Allergies
  A patient's allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Measurements and Assessments
  Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements and other assessments in the patient's record as required.
- Recalls
  A Recall is a type of flag recorded against a patient's record that informs practitioners and practice staff of when the patient is due to return to the practice.
- Nursing Requests
  During a consult, add a request for a nurse to complete a nursing action.
- Obstetrics
  Record obstetrics information on the Obstetrics panel.
- Investigations
  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.
- Tasks
  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.
- My Health Record
  Securely upload a patient's health data to their My Health Record.

Procedure

To create and upload a Shared Health Summary:

Open the patient's clinical record.
In the Health Summary, click My Health Record.
In the My Health Record panel, to create a new Shared Health Summary, click Create.
Information from the patient's clinical record is listed. Select information you want to include or deselect information you want to exclude. To deselect all options in a section, click None Supplied .
Read the three statements at the bottom of the panel.
To view the Shared Health Summary before sending or uploading it, click Preview.
Click Upload.
Alternatively, to send the health summary to a recipient, click Send as SMD.
In the Send as SMD section:
1. Enter a recipient and location.
2. Click Send & Upload to send to the recipient and upload the Shared Health Summary to My Health Record or Send to just upload the Shared Health Summary.

Results

The new Shared Health Summary is added to the list on the View panel and is displayed in the Actions section with a status: Upload Successful, Failed or Delivered.

When the consult is complete, the Shared Health Summary moves from the Actions section to the Patient Timeline.

A read-only copy of the health summary can be opened from either Actions or Patient Timeline icon Patient Timeline.
