Recurring Appointments

During a patient's appointment, practitioners can add recurring appointments for existing and new patients.

Before you begin

Permissions:
  • View Appointments
  • View All Appointment Books
  • Create Appointments
Before you create a recurring appointment, you must first create an appointment for the patient.

About this task

Add recurring appointments to an existing appointment. Specify the interval of recurrence and the number of appointments or an end date.

Procedure

To create recurring appointments:
  1. In the Create event panel, select an interval at which the appointment recurs from the Does not repeat list.
    Note: You cannot create recurring appointments for provisional patients.
  2. In the Custom recurrence panel, complete the required details for the recurring appointment. For example, for a weekly recurrence:

    1. The default start date for a recurring appointment is today. To set a future start date, in the Start field, select a new date from the calendar.
    2. In the Repeat every field:
      1. Select the interval at which you want the appointment to repeat.
        Tip: For more information about specific options, see Custom Recurrence.
      2. To add appointments for a particular day, from the abbreviated day list, select the preferred day. For example, T (Tuesday).
    3. In the End section, set when you want the recurring appointments to end:
      • To add a defined number of appointments:
        1. Set After.
        2. In the Occurrences field, enter the required number of appointments.
      • To set an end date:
        1. Set On.
        2. From the calendar, select an end date after which no further appointments are required for this condition.
        Tip: The custom recurrence details are displayed at the bottom of the Custom recurrence panel.
    4. Click Done.

Results

The recurring appointments are added to the Appointments IconAppointments book.

What to do next

If required, in the patient Appointments section, edit or delete the recurring appointments.

To edit an appointment's details, click Appointment details - IconEdit. For more information, see Edit Recurring Appointments.

To sign a patient in for an appointment, when they arrive, click Arrive.

If a patient does not arrive for an appointment, click Did not attend ButtonDid not attend.

To delete an appointment, click Delete appointmentDelete.
