- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
  - Conditions
    Add a condition to a patient's record from a predefined set of conditions.
  - Add Family History
    A patient may inform a practitioner about a family medical condition which can be recorded in Helix.
    - Edit a Family History
      Modify details of the recorded family history from the patient's records, such as condition, relationship or age of onset.
    - Delete a Condition from a Family History
      If a recorded family condition is no longer required, you can delete it from the patient's family history.
  - Add Social History
    Record a patient's occupation, marital status and sexuality as social history in Helix.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Medications
  Helix uses the MDref medications database provided by AusDI.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.
- Allergies
  A patient's allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Measurements and Assessments
  Record metabolic, pathology and ECG measurements and other assessments in the patient's record as required.
- Recalls
  A Recall is a type of flag recorded against a patient's record that informs practitioners and practice staff of when the patient is due to return to the practice.
- Nursing Requests
  During a consult, add a request for a nurse to complete a nursing action.
- Obstetrics
  Record obstetrics information on the Obstetrics panel.
- Investigations
  Investigations can be requested by a practitioner from within a patient's clinical record.
- Tasks
  The tasks module allows users to send messages (tasks) to other users throughout the medical centre.
- My Health Record
  Securely upload a patient's health data to their My Health Record.

Add Family History

A patient may inform a practitioner about a family medical condition which can be recorded in Helix.

About this task

Add family medical conditions to the Family history icon Family History section in the health summary icon Health Summary panel.

Procedure

To add family history:

In the patient's record, select Health Summary > Family History section.
In the Family History section:
- If no family history has been recorded for this patient, the Family History section is blank and displays the Family conditions icon. Click the Family conditions icon to activate it.
- If the patient has one or more current conditions listed, to add a new condition, click in the section to activate edit mode.
Tip:
If you want to record that there is no known family history, set No known family conditions.
Click in a Conditions field and start typing the name of the condition. A list of matching conditions is displayed. Select a condition from the list of conditions displayed.
From the Relationship list, select the family member who has this condition.
If required, in the Onset age field, record when the family member states this started.
In the Comments field, add any notes.
To save the condition, click away from the Family History section.

Results

The family history condition is added to the list.
